“Suratthani Car Free Day 2008”
Suratthani Bike Club in co-operation with Thai health Promotion Foundation will be held “Suratthani Car Free Day” on 21 September 2008 time 08.00am.
The bike rute will be start from Suratthani Provincial office. Riding around Suratthani town. Which is about 15 kms. (Almost 500 bikes)
All interested are invited to join in this activity without any charges. And get
“Car Free Day” t-shirt also beware of bicycle sticker. Start registeration since 06.00am. until 08.00 am.
“Car Free Day” is an opportunity to find another way for just one day to get around town, leave the car at home and walk, take a bus, or ride bicycle around town. All this is to help highlight the pollution caused by cars, not just the fumes but the whole cycle of waste and disruption, the noise, delayed journeys, the whole human misery caused by traffic congestion and car pollution. Almost 40% of the transport sector's CO2 emissions are produced by the use of private cars in cities and campaign for “global warming awarness”
