THE MISSION
While millions of children enjoy riding bikes around their neighborhood with their friends, there are many children in the world who need them for transportation to and from school, and yet lack access to this simple technology.
Every day in rural Thailand a lack of bicycles makes it difficult for children to pursue their education. For example, in the village we've chosen for our pilot program, the trip to school is over 2 miles each way.
Now, with the help of Thailand-based bicycle communities, Spin York is hoping to solve that problem for its inaugural class of students by raising money from bicycle sponsors. For $100, a sponsor can buy a bicycle for one of the 15 children we've identified as being in need.
