Spit (and Blow) Politely

Seems like we're all juicier on cold-weather rides. There's more need to expectorate and/or expel the contents of one's nasal passages.

That's not a pretty picture, but it gets even uglier for the rider behind if you don't use proper technique.

When spitting, you need to direct it downward with force. Otherwise, the wind could catch it and douse those to your rear.

The best position is with your hands on the hoods. In one choreographed movement, dip your head slightly, turn it an inch to the left or right, and blow that wad under your elbow as the leg on that side reaches the bottom of the stoke.

If you have trouble hitting that window between your elbow and leg, tuck in your elbow, turn your head a little more to the side, and take the next-to-the-shoulder route.

If you're in a paceline, spit to the right side off the road. If not, do it to the side least likely to dampen or offend those around you.

Clearing one's nose is a little trickier. It's not a bad idea to wait till you're at the rear of the group. Or pull out, away from other riders, and check your clearance.

Again, think downward with force. Push your right nostril shut with your right index finger, turn your head to the left, and blow your left side clean. Then reverse directions. To keep the bike on a straight line, hold the handlebar on top next to the stem.

Practice a little and soon you'll be spewing like a pro!

เคยขี่ออกทริปใหญ่ ตามหลังท่านหนึ่ง ขากถุยตลอดทุกๆ 1 นาที แถมถุยแบบเฉียดคนข้างๆ ผมขี่ตีคู่อยู่นี่แทบจะโดนแฮนด์เลย เจอแบบนี้ต้องขี่หนีให้ไกล

ผมไม่ใช่นักแข่งมืออาชีพอะไร ออกกำลังกายเป็นหลักแข่งเอาสนุก จะสั่งน้ำมูก ก็ดูหน้าหลัง ข้างๆซ้ายขวาว่าไม่มีใครอยู่ใกล้ๆ ก้มลงข้างๆ ต่ำๆหน่อยไม่ให้ใครมารังเกลียดครับ

เป็นนักปั่นสมัครเล่นนะครับ
คอเสื้อตัวเองหรือปลายแขนเสื้อเลยสำหรับน้ำมูก
ถ้าน้ำลายก็ฉีกออกจากกลุ่มไปข้างทางก่อนถ่ม หรือไม่ก็ปล่อยให้เพื่อนๆแซงออกหน้าเราไปก่อนค่อยถ่มแต่ส่วนมากไม่ค่อยมีน้ำลายให้ถ่มเพราะคอมันจะแห้งต้องกลืนน้ำลาย

ข้อเสียของการปั่นตามกล่ม ดูด คนอื่น
ทุกวันนี้ก็พยามเป็นผู้นำกลุ่ม เพื่อสูดอากาศบริสุทธิ หลังจากที่ดมตูดคนอื่นอยู่นาน..
ดีนะที่หลบทันหลายครั้ง ยังโชคดีอยู่ ขอให้ภาครัฐ องค์กรทุกภาคส่วนช่วยดูแลด้วยครับ

ท่านมั่นใจได้อย่างไรว่าจะไม่มีการตดใส่คนที่อยู่ข้างหลัง ผมเจอไปเต็มๆ สุดๆเลย ไอ้เราก็กำลังเหนื่อย ไล่งับอากาศอยู่พอดี สูดเข้าไปเฮือกใหญ่ๆจะคายออกเหมือนคายข้าวในปากก็มิอาจทำได้ ..จะต่อว่าก็ไม่กล้าเพราะเขาตัวใหญ่ยังกะยักษ์ กล้ามเป็นมัดๆ แค้นมาก... ตั้งแต่นั้นมาจึงต้องพยายามอยู่ข้างหน้าเข้าไว้ ..

ใช่ครับ บ้วนน้ำลาย หรือจะเสลด ก็ควรจะดูหน้าดูหลังนิดนึง ไม่ว่าจะปั่นกลุ่มหรือเดี่ยว ข้างหน้าไม่เท่าไหร่ ไอข้างหลังนี่สิ ลำบาก โดยส่วนตัวยังไม่เคยโดน จักรยานด้วนกันเอง ส่วนมากจะเป็นมอไซค์มากกว่า บ้วนน้ำลาย ทิ้งขี้บุหรี่ยังเงี๊ยน่า จัดซักดอก
