KhaoKho Extra Tour

Once again, Suanthon Gold City is very pleased to announce that this year “KhaoKho Extra Tour” will be held on Saturday 6th, February 2010 of which we have held this event for three years consecutively up until this year. And as usual the KhaoKho Extra Tour is a paved road racing tournament, opening for both road bikes and mountain bikes enthusiasts.
Road Bike Category
Start and finish lines
1st Group starts at 7.00 A.M. at Debsirin Phu Khae school, Saraburi and finishes at Sadao Pong intersection, KhaoKho in which the total distance is 265 Kms. The participants in this group are
- Open
- 30-39 years of age
- 40-49 years of age
2st Group starts approximately at around 9.30 A.M. at Lum Narai, Lop Buri when the 1st Group is approaching there (so that the two groups can be joined together) and finishes at Sadao Pong intersection, KhaoKho in which the distance is cut down to 180 Kms totally. The participants in this group are
- Youth; not over 19 years of age
- 50 years of age up
- Ladies
- V.I.P.
Registration fees
800 Baht for all but is 400 Baht for the youth (as we want to support them to participate in sport activities) and is 2,000 Baht for V.I.P.*
Rewards
Open
- 1st place gets the cash of 10,000 Baht together with a trophy of honor
- 2nd place gets the cash of 7,500 Baht together with a trophy of honor
- 3rd place gets the cash of 5,000 Baht together with a trophy of honor
- 4-5th places get trophies of honor
- 6-10th places get souvenir plates
Youth, 30-39 years of age, 40-49 years of age, 50 years of age up, Ladies, and V.I.P.
- 1st place gets the cash of 3,000 Baht together with a trophy of honor
- 2nd place gets the cash of 2,500 Baht together with a trophy of honor
- 3rd place gets the cash of 2,000 Baht together with a trophy of honor
- 4th place gets the cash of 1,500 Baht together with a trophy of honor
- 5th place gets the cash of 1,000 Baht together with a trophy of honor
- 6-10th places get souvenir plates

Mountain Bike Category
Start and finish lines
All starts at 10.00 A.M. at BanYaWee Hauy Prong school, approximately 20 Kms south to the town of Phetchabun and finishes at Sadao Pong intersection, KhaoKho (same finish line as the road bike category) in which the distance is 60 Kms in total. The participants in this group are
- Youth; not over 19 years of age
- Open
- 30-39 years of age
- 40-49 years of age
- 50 years of age up
- Ladies
- V.I.P.
Registration fees
300 Baht for all but is 1,000 Baht for V.I.P.*
Rewards
Open, Youth, 30-39 years of age, 40-49 years of age, 50 years of age up, Ladies, and V.I.P.
- 1st place gets the cash of 2,000 Baht together with a trophy of honor
- 2nd place gets the cash of 1,500 Baht together with a trophy of honor
- 3rd place gets the cash of 1,000 Baht together with a trophy of honor
- 4th place gets the cash of 500 Baht together with a trophy of honor
- 5th place gets the cash of 500 Baht together with a trophy of honor

Rules and Regulations
1. The UCI rules and the Thai Cycling Association rules are applied in this tournament.
2. Water and food is allowed to be taken from the commissaries only when the riders have passed the first 50 Kms (service teams can pass water, food, medical supplies, and other supplements to their riders only via the commissaries)
3. If not get permission from the commissaries, the service team’s vehicles are not allowed to approach to their riders and must keep themselves to the back of the pack of riders at all times during the race.
4. For the safety of all, those riders who have the time gap between themselves and the lead rider exceed 20%, they are considered as unqualified and must stop the riding (the race organizer provides a vehicle to carry these people and their bicycles to the finish line)
5. In Mountain Bike Category, the bicycle must be the mountain bike designed kind of frame.
6. In Mountain Bike Category, only mountain bike designed kind of handlebar is allowed.
7. In Mountain Bike Category, wheels must be of equal diameter 26 inches.
8. In Mountain Bike Category, any kind of mountain bike tyre including slick tyre is allowed.
9. In Mountain Bike Category, although any kind of sprockets are allowed, the chainrings must be of mountain bike designed and the biggest one must not exceed 48 teeth.
10. In Mountain Bike Category, no arrow bar is allowed as well as flipping down the bar end for arrow dynamic purpose is not permitted.
11. In Mountain Bike Category, both suspension fork and hard fork is allowed.
12. Every rider must wear helmet at all time during the race.
13. Those who are less than 15 years old must get consent from their parent for attending the race.
14. The race organizer is not liable for incidental or consequential damages of any nature whatsoever that might occur to all participants, their bicycles and properties.
15. All riders must attach the tag-number receiving from the registration point clearly both on their jerseys and bicycles.
16. The race organizer will provide facilitators as well as radio communicators for to assist all participants in the race.
17. In order to receive the reward, the riders must show some kind of official identifications to prove their age.
18. Except for Open category, the age is counted from the year of birth to the year 2010.
19. There is no age limitation in the Open category.
20. To protest the result of the race, the protester must hand in a written document with patch together cash of 1,000 Baht to the race committee within 15 minutes after the unofficial result has been announced (the protester will receive the money back if it has been proved that the protester’s claim is justifiable.
21. Verdicts form the race committee is ultimately to be the end.
