ในรูป เป็นรุ่น SOLOIST TEAM ปี2005 เป็นเฟรมอลูมินั่มครับ
ปัจจุบันเปลี่ยนชื่อเป็น S1
ส่วน S2 , S3 เป็นเฟรมคาร์บอนครับ

เดิมตะเกียบนี้ติดมาคู่กับเฟรม R2.5 แล้วส่งเครมเฉพาะเฟรม โดยมีพี่ตั๋นพระราม 9 ช่วยติดต่อประสานให้ จึงใช้ตะเกียบเดิม แต่ก็โอเคดีครับ น้ำหนักเบา เป็นซางคาร์บอน
สำหรับความรู้สึกผมแล้ว ตัว R3 นี้ได้เปรียบตรงที่เฟรมน้ำหนักเบาออกตัวได้รวดเร็วทันใจ ถ้าทางราบใช้ล้อขอบสูงที่มีแรงเหวี่ยงสูงจะช่วยให้รถที่มีน้ำหนักเบามีแรงเฉื่อยดีขึ้น แต่มาดอนเน่เป็นจักรยานที่ครบเครื่องทุกรูปแบบทุกสถานการณ์

คันนี้เป็นคันที่ 2 คันแรกเป็นรถโครโมลี
แล้วไม่ใช่ขาแรง กระทืบหนัก หรือ นักแข่ง
เท่าที่รับรู้ได้
เป็นเฟรมที่พุ่ง ตอบสนองเร็ว
การควบคุม บังคับรถ ปราดเปรียวฉับไว (น่าจะมาจากระยะฐานล้อค่อนข้างน้อย)
รับรู้ได้ถึงความเป็นรถอลูมีนัม แต่ไม่กระด้าง สะเทือน จนอ่อนล้า (80 - 100 กม.)
ตะเกียบ หลักอาน และ แฮนด์คาร์บอน คงช่วยไว้บ้าง
ส่วนเรื่องแอโรว์ไดนามิก เกินความสามารถที่จะรับรู้ได้ครับ

Answer - R3 vs. Soloist Carbon stiffness and comfort
In all the tests and feedback, the Soloist Carbon scores very high in bottom bracket and torsional stiffness. This makes it very well suitable for heavier riders. That said, the R3 is even stiffer in torsion, albeit by a small margin. Both frames also pass our stringent durability and strength tests, so either frame would be suitable for you. Sorry we can't rule on of the two frames out for you, but the reason to get one or the other will have to come from something other than your weight.

With regards to comfort, the R3 is an extremely vertically compliant frame thanks to the special seatstays. This also is a great benefit on rough roads as it enables the rear wheel to be in contact with the road better, as Team CSC is discovering on the cobblestones of Belgium. The Soloist Carbon is very comfortable according to some and not so much according to others. Truth is that if it fits properly and if the component spec is smart, the frame plays a relatively minor role in the overall comfort of the bike. The tires, wheels, fork, seatpost, stem and handlebar all are much more compliant in the vertical plane than the frame, any frame, and so that is where comfort is most gained or lost. To that effect, always spec wide tires if comfort is an issue. Going from 20mm to 23mm or 25mm tires and using a tire with a supple casing (for example a casing with a high tpi count) will have a bigger impact on comfort than anything you can do with the frame.


Answer - R3 vs. Soloist Carbon Part I
It depends on what you enjoy. In almost every situation, the Soloist Carbon is the fastest frame you can ride, period. It is as light or lighter than most other frames on the market (when you look at the actual weight instead of the claimed weight), and its aerodynamics are unsurpassed. Comparing it with the R3 is a slightly different situation, as the R3 is one of the very few frames that doesn't just claim to be lighter than the Soloist Carbon, it actually is. But aerodynamics play a bigger role than the weight difference in most situations (remember that you have to relate the weight savings to the overall weight of the bike and rider, so a savings of a couple hundred grams is not that big).

That said, if you really enjoy riding an extremely light bike, you can do no better than starting out with an R3. Not only is it currently the lightest frame in production in a realistic size like a 56cm (no matter what others claim), it is also one of the stiffest and toughest on the market. To top it off, its special seatstays offer a very nice ride and the frame has enough clearance to fit really big tires, even narrow cyclocross tires.

So in the end it depends on what you are looking for. For the ultimate speed weapon, pick the Soloist Carbon. For a frame that is as aerodynamic as other "lightweight" frames but beats them in weight, stiffness and toughness, go with the R3.


Answer - R3 vs. Soloist Carbon Part II
Both the R3 and the Soloist have great bb and torsional stiffness, so snappy handling won't be an issue with either. They also have identical geometry, which is another important factor in the quickness of the handling.

The R3 leads the industry in torsional and bb stiffness while the Soloist Carbon closely follows. The biggest difference will come down the the speed of the bikes. The Soloist Soloist Carbon is the fastest option available on the market on almost any race course, hilly or flat. This is why Team CSC chooses it for the bulk of their events, even the high mountain stages. The benefit of the increased aerodynamics on the flats and the descents is more important then the weight difference, while on the ascent they are roughly a wash (unless you go really slowly). This applies to a variety of situations, including cross winds. Of course, when sitting in the peloton the importance of aerodynamics on the bike is greatly reduced.

If you live in an area that resembles Paris-Roubaix more than it does civilization, the R3 would be a useful consideration. The R3 is not only one of the lightest and the strongest frames out there but it is one of the smoothest and yields an extremely comfortable ride.So pick the Soloist Carbon if you want the fastest bike out there with no compromises and the R3 if you want a light, stiff bike with a smooth ride. But you really cannot make a poor choice either way.
