ร่วมเป็นกำลังใจให้น้องๆ บ้านดาดา รวมพลังปั่นระดมทุนเพื่อการศึกษา เด็กชาย 18 คน เด็กหญิง 10 คน
พร้อมพี่ชายดาดา 2 ท่าน ชาวอังกฤษ 1ท่าน และชาวสิงคโปร์ 2 ท่าน ร่วมปั่นดูแลเด็กๆ ตลอดเส้นทาง
เด็กๆ ตั้งเป้าปั่นจาก ทองผาภูมิ จังหวัดกาญจบุรี มุ่งสู่ท่าเรือดอนสัก จังหวัดสุราษฏร์ธานี ระยะทาง 1000 กม.
เริ่มต้นวันที่ 1 เมษายน 2555 ด้วยการปั่นจักรยานในระยะทางวันละ 180 - 200 กม. ทุกวัน

เมื่อถึงดอนสัก สุราษฏร์ธานี จะมีเด็กๆ น้องๆ ตัวเล็ก เดินทางด้วยรถยนต์ไปสมทบ
เด็กๆ เหล่านี้จะเดินทางข้ามไปที่เกาะพะงัน เพื่อแสดงการแสดงระดมทุนการศึกษา

จุดพักตามจังหวัดต่างๆ ที่หยุดพัก เด็กๆ เหล่านี้จะเข้าพักตามวัดต่างๆ ซึ่งดาดาได้ประสานไว้ก่อนล่วงหน้า

จากนั้น เด็กๆ เหล่านี้จะเริ่มต้นปั่นจักรยานกลับทองผาภูมิกันด้วยระยะทาง 1000 กม. เช่นเดิม
บางช่วงเด็กหญิง อาจสับเปลียนกันปั่นบ้าง ตั้งเป้าถึงทองผาภูมิ 24 เมษายน 2555

1000km CYCLING FUNDRAISING EVENT

In April 2012 Dada and 28 children (18 boys and 10 girls) will embark on a 1000km cycling journey to Kohphanga.
The participating boys will be looking for their own sponsors for this event.
The monies raised from this cycling event will be used to cover the cost of the journey and also for
their school opening expenses on May 2012. We hope to reach Suratthani Donsak Pier on the 11th of April to
meet with the rest of the children in Baan Dada travelling by our truck.

The girls will take turn in cycling back to Thongphapum after the programs in Kohphanga sometime on April 24th.

This covers your food on the road and half of it is a donation to the home.

บ้านดาดาเป็นศูนย์พักพิงสำหรับเด็กและเป็นศูนย์พัฒนาเศรษฐกิจของชุมชนซึ่งตั้งอยู่บริเวณชายแดนไทย-พม่า บ้านหมายถึง “ที่อยู่อาศัย” และดาดาในภาษาสันสกฤต หมายถึง "พี่ชาย" บ้านดาดาเป็นศูนย์พักพิงของเด็กด้อยโอกาสและเด็กกำพร้าเป็นจำนวนทั้งสิ้นประมาณ 60 คน

บ้านดาดาก่อตั้งขึ้นในปี พ.ศ. 2537 โดยมุ่งหมายให้เป็นโครงการเพื่อการเกษตรเท่านั้น แต่ได้ปรับเปลี่ยนรูปแบบจนกลายเป็นโครงการเพื่อบริการสังคมดังเช่นที่เป็นอยู่ในปัจจุบัน โครงการอื่นๆ (นอกเหนือจากศูนย์พักพิงเด็ก) ที่เรามีส่วนร่วม ได้แก่ โครงการตรวจวัดและดูแลสายตาสำหรับผู้ด้อยโอกาส โครงการดูแลสุขภาพสำหรับผู้ด้อยโอกาส และการสร้างวิทยาลัยสายอาชีพ

ปัจจุบัน บ้านดาดาเป็นศูนย์พักพิงของเด็กๆกว่า 60 คนซึ่งมีอายุตั้งแต่ 2 ถึง 18 ปี โครงการดังกล่าวก่อตั้งขึ้นเมื่อ 14 ปีก่อนโดยนายริคาร์โด โซเลตา ซึ่งเป็น “ดาดา” คนหนึ่ง
เด็กที่อยู่ที่นี่ส่วนใหญ่เป็นกลุ่มผู้ลี้ภัยจากประเทศพม่าซึ่งมีเชื้อสายมอญและกะเหรี่ยง เด็กๆแต่ละคนมีเรื่องราวชีวิตของตัวเองที่แตกต่างกันไป แต่เรื่องราวเหล่านี้ล้วนมีสาระสำคัญคล้ายๆกัน คือพวกเขาสูญเสียครอบครัวจากโรคร้าย (เช่น วัณโรค) หรือถูกทอดทิ้งจากครอบครัวที่มีฐานะยากจนและไม่สามารถส่งเสียเลี้ยงดู ที่น่าเศร้าที่สุดคือ เด็กเหล่านี้ต้องประสบกับภาพที่พ่อแม่พี่น้องตนเองถูกเข่นฆ่าระหว่างที่เกิดเหตุจลาจลในประเทศพม่า

บ้านดาดาให้ที่พักพิงใหม่และโอกาสในการศึกษากับเด็กพลัดถิ่นเหล่านี้ โดยใช้ทรัพยากรที่มีอยู่อย่างจำกัดเพื่อช่วยพัฒนาทักษะที่จำเป็นให้กับเด็กๆได้มากที่สุด เพื่อเพิ่มโอกาสที่พวกเขาจะเติบโตขึ้นมาในสังคมโดยสามารถพึ่งตนเองได้สูงสุด เด็กทุกคนได้รับการศึกษาในโรงเรียน และเด็กที่ไม่มีทักษะภาษาไทยก็ได้รับการสอนและฝึกฝนภาษาไทยที่บ้านดาดาก่อนแล้ว

บ้านดาดาไม่ได้รับเงินทุนสนับสนุนจากรัฐบาลและต้องอาศัยความคิดริเริ่มและเงินบริจาคเพื่อดำเนินการ ค่าใช้จ่ายเพื่อการศึกษา ค่ารักษาพยาบาล ค่าเดินทางและค่าที่อยู่อาศัยเพื่อสนับสนุนเด็กกว่า 60 คนจึงนับเป็นสิ่งสำคัญ บ้านดาดามีธุรกิจเล็กๆเป็นของตนเอง (รวมถึงการทอผ้า การให้เช่าแพะ การทำบัตรอวยพร และการทำวงดนตรีขนาดเล็ก) แต่ความพยายามทั้งหลายเหล่านี้ก็ยังไม่เพียงพอเพื่อการสนับสนุนความต้องการของเด็กๆ

Baan Dada is a Children’s Home and community economic development center located on the Thailand/Burma border. Baan means “house” in Thai and Dada is Sanskrit for “brother.” Baan Dada is home to approximately 60 disadvantaged or orphaned children.

Baan Dada started in 1994 as an agriculuture project, but quickly transformed into the community service project that it is today. Some of the projects (besides the Children’s Home) that we are involved in include an eye care outreach program, a health care outreach program, and the building of a technical college.

Baan Dada is currently home to more than 60 children between the age of 2 and 18. The project was established 14 years ago by Richard Zoleta who is a "Dada".
The majority of these children are refugees from Burma and are of Mon and Karen ethnicity. Each child has their own unique story but most have a common theme, that is, losing their family from disease (such as tuberculosis), being abandoned by their poor parents who could no longer afford (or want) to provide care and saddest of all, witnessing the execution of their parents and siblings during the insurgency.

Baan Dada provides these displaced children with a new home and the opportunity to have an education. Baan Dada uses its limited resources to best equip these children with essential skills to give them the best chance of being self sufficient when they enter society as adults. All children attend school, and for those who have no Thai language skills, are tutored in Thai on site beforehand.

Baan Dada has no government grants and relies on its own initiatives and donations to function. Schooling, medical, transportation and housing expenses to support more than 60 children is significant. Baan Dada has its own small businesses (including weaving, goat lending, card making and a small music band) but all these efforts are not sufficient to support the essential needs of the children.

Your help is needed - that can be by volunteering your time at Baan Dada in Thailand or through donations.
