อัพเดทข่าวคราวกันหน่อยครับเกี่ยวกับนักปั่นชาวต่างชาติ เพื่อนใหม่ของผม
เป็นที่น่าเสียดายมากครับที่นัดของเราสองคนมีอันต้องล้มเลิกไปด้วยเหตุที่ Gary ประสบอุบัติเหตุระหว่างอยู่ที่ภูเก็ตครับ เป็นอุบัติเหตุที่เกิดขึ้นบนจักรยานยนต์ครับ ไม่ใช่จักรยาน และตอนนี้เท่าที่ทราบข่าว Gary ได้เดินทางกลับบ้านที่ออสเตรเลียเรียบร้อยแล้วครับ คงเป็นโอกาสหน้าครับที่จะได้พบปะ และได้ร่วมเดินทางด้วยกันอีก

หวังว่า Mr. Gary เพื่อนของผมคนนี้จะหายจากอาการบาดเจ็บโดยเร็ว และมีสุขภาพร่างกายแข็งแรงเหมือนเดิมครับ

How’s it going for you …. Battling Bangkok traffic on your trusty bicycle I expect?

I’m afraid that I can no longer keep our appointment when I arrive in Bangkok ………………. You see I’ve had a rather unfortunatemaccident here in Phuket.vIt’s bloody amazing you know – 960km and two and a half weks by bicycle, no problems! Two and a half hours on a rented motor scooter and big problems for me!

I have an accident, bloody hell !... bit of a curve, it rained not long before, sand & gravel on shoulder so I slow down a little and the driver on left hand street thinks I’m turning left! BANG I hit Honda Jazz & then I’m on my hands & knees with incredible back pain …. Driver says sorry, he is at fault and he and his wife take me to Phuket International Hospital. I’ve broken my friggin’ back – burst vertebrae is the correct prognosis. I must have surgery immediately or risk not walking again. Jeezus I have to have major surgery with two great ‘bolts & plates’ inserted into my spine …. The surgeon has done this procedure heaps and assures me all is well. Now it’s my 10th day in this hospital and I shall be flying home reclined in business class next Wednesday the 1st. I do have travel insurance and the driver and his wife have very, very kind to me with offers of medical payment and daily visits and gifts plus food …. I’ve been taken care of real good but fuck, what an ugly end to a great ride.

I now must wear a back brace for at least 3 months …. even when showering, I only take iy off when lying down.

Isn’t it a shame – all that fitness& stamina I’ve built up will now go to waste … walk slowly,walk slowing I am told!

I’ll be back ….. one day!

เพิ่งเจอกระทู้วันนี้ ดีใจและขอบคุณที่ปั่นมาเที่ยวบ้านผม หวังว่าระนองคงได้ต้อนรับชาวจักรยานอีกหลายๆท่านนะครับ
