She won't even acknowledge them.
"I don't want to be there when the blood comes gushing out.
That would be very traumatizing." (She laughs when she says this,
but she's serious about not talking to helmetless riders.)

Stevens is probably one of the most technology-clueless professional cyclists in the world.
"A lot of people riding are really into their equipment," she says.
"I'm more into winning and going fast."
When asked what size her wheels are, she laughs.
"Twenty inches? Twenty-six? I don't know."
