Chiang Mai's air quality problem

Air Quality Indext is 100.0 today. A reading of over 100 is considered extremely unsafe.

A reading of 98 can cause serious health issues. Please make an effort to tell people you know and see around your village / house to stop burning.

Please also try to alert people to the Chiang Mai's air quality problem.

Yah.. not only Chiangmai, in fact whole Northern area, air is polluted, as well as Kanjanaburi.
Burning has been going on for years. Everybody; government, local administrators, local policians and so on know and are aware of the effects. Why no action ? It is not really true. There is law of prohibiting burning, but local people just get use to burn leafs etc for many many years. How to stop and who can stop this ? I don't know.

Anyhow, many thanks for your kind issue. For the time being just avoid these places until raining reason comes. I always enjoy riding in northern route. I want to invite you to visit my recorded trip in Nan Province which I biked there in early February 2010 at signature spot, unfortunately, it's in Thai language. You will see how nice these places are !
