Just in case if someone looking at the front suspension of the Double Pylon or the Single Pylon is reminded of the so-called AMP Fork (developed and patented by Dr. Horst Leitner of AMP Research) in the 90s. Here is a little tricky and it could be a true admiration toward the cleverness of Dr. Alex Moulton to come up with another practical means of damping bumps
The front suspension equipped in the Moulton bike for the so-called "Single Pylon" model (launched in 1998) and the subsequent model "Double Pylon" released in 2004 is developed by Dr. Moulton. This new front suspension is named "Flexitor."
What is then a major difference between the AMP Fork and the Moulton Flexitor? It is very clear both front suspension designs are based on a parallelogram arrangement. However, the AMP Fork is coil spring-supported whereas the Moulton Flexitor employs rubber to damp the movement (not a coil spring). Closely looking at the Moulton front suspension, it can be seen with "Rubber-In-Torsion" units (in red marks) installed at both the lower swingarm and the upper swingarm.

Which one should be technically better in terms of damping the movement for bike application will have to depend heavily on which conditions are being talked about. Both should have pros and cons in themselves. One major reason why Dr. Moulton opts for rubber is that he and his predecessors have been significantly involved in the rubber industry in the UK for a very long time (i.e., related to Goodyear, Dunlop and of course the Austin Mini). He is respectably an active engineer having a strong belief in broad applications of rubber....
