• HM CARBON MONOBLOC FRAME
The use of high modulus carbon fibres allows the production of light frames whilst retaining optimum stiffness: sufficient for the frame to have excellent efficiency without being uncomfortable. The arrival of carbon in the MTB world is restarting the use of rigid or semi-rigid frames because the weight gain is very significant.
The frame is monobloc for greater solidity and lightness. To increase the frame’s strength a reinforcing “gusset” is integrated into the monobloc form under the head tube.
• RIGID CHAINSTAYS AND DCSC SEATSTAYS
The chainstays are oversized because they must be rigid for efficient transmission of the pedalling power. For their part the seatstays are designed to filter out vibrations. An oriented stiffness carbon composite and a flattened shape provide 2 advantages: they improve flexibility in the vertical plane (increased comfort and adhesion), whilst increasing rigidity in the lateral plane (better pedal force transmission).
• PF BB 89.5 BOTTOM BRACKET
The bottom bracket is in PF 89.5 format and so permits direct fitting of a Shimano Press Fit bottom bracket and a 24 mm axle diameter crankset. The advantages of a Press Fit bottom bracket are, on the one hand, easier fitting (pressed rather than screwed) and on the other hand, a system that permits the bearings to be separated from each other as much as possible, which gives optimised bottom bracket rigidity.
• SHIMANO DI2 AND ‘’SIDE SWING’’ COMPATIBLE
The cable housing end stops are removable and so it is possible to change them for Shimano Di2 end stops.
• INTERNAL CABLE AND CABLE HOUSING ROUTING
The derailleur cable and cable housing routing is integrated into the tubes and the rear chainstay. Routing of the front derailleur cable has two possible paths: either through the top by passing into the top tube, or through the down tube for the new Shimano ‘’side swing’’ pull. Hydraulic brake hoses remain externally routed (under the down tube) to favour simplicity and speed of assembly and maintenance of disc brakes.
• GEOMETRY
The bicycle geometry has been thought out taking into account the latest generation suspended forks with 100 mm travel. The steering angle of 71.3 ° in 29 and 70.6 in 27.5 inch offers a good handling / stability compromise. The chainstay lengths have been optimised with 430 mm on the 27.5 versions and 438 mm on the 29 inch so that the bike’s wheelbase is almost identical for a 27.5 and a 29 inch in the same size. This ensures uniform bike behaviour whatever the size of frame or wheels.
