ปีนี้ Shimano ได้เปิดตัวอะไหล่ XTR รุ่น 11 สปีดออกมาสู่ตลาด ก็เลยจะขอขุดประวัติอะไหล่ชุด XTR มาเล่าสู่กันฟังน่ะครับ



Shimano ผลิตชุดอะไหล่ XTR รุ่นแรกในปี 1992 (2535) ด้วยรหัส M900 โดยวางตำแหน่งเป็นรุ่นที่สูงกว่าชุดอะไหล่ XT ที่ผลิตออกมาจำหน่ายก่อนหน้า (ชุดอะไหล่ XT เริ่มผลิตในปี 1983 (2526)) ชุดอะไหล่ XTR รุ่นแรกใช้เฟืองหลังแบบ 8 สปีด เมื่อเกียร์ติดตั้งรวมกับมือเบรก อะไหล่ XTR รุ่นนี้มีรายละเอียดดังนี้

เป็นการเปิดตัวอะไหล่ XTR รุ่นที่ 3 รหัส 97X ซึ่งมีนวัตกรรมต่อวงการหลายอย่าง ที่สำคัญคือ การนำกระโหกแบบ Hollow tech II และ ดุมล้อแบบ Centter lock มาใช้ รวมถึงเป็นครั้งแรกที่มีการนำระบบ Dual control มาใช้กับจักรยานเสือภูเขา


XTR : All new XTR, Hollowtech II crank arms (2 piece design), first XTR disc brake with lock ring rotor, Dual Control Shift levers (brakes and shifters controlled by a single lever per side), new shiny gray finish

Rear Derailleur: Rapid Rise (low normal) RD-M960-GS (mid cage) and RD-M960-SGS (long cage), 9 speed STI compatible

Rapid Fire Shifters: ST-M960 dual control for V brakes and ST-M965 dual control for hydraulic disc brakes

Shift Lever: no separate shifters are offered since they are integrated with the brake lever

Front Chain ring and Bottom Bracket: FC-M960, Hollowtech II (2 piece design, integrated bottom bracket), Compact Hyperdrive chain rings, wide bearing placement 22 or 24/32/44

Free hub: FH-M965 for center lock disc brakes and HB-M960 for V brakes, both available in 24/28/32/36 holes

Front Hub: HB-M965 for center lock disc brake or HB-M960 for V brakes, both available in 24/28/32/36 holes

Cassette:CS-M960, 9 speed 4 Ti cogs, 6 largest sprocket are bolted to the carrier

Wheels: WH-M965, cross-over spoke lacing, side wall spoke mounting, center lock disc only, tubeless compatible

Front derailleur: FD-M960, and FD-M960-E (bracket type) dual pull design (top or bottom route cable) and top swing link, FD-M961 down swing model

Pedals: PD-M959 SPD clipless pedal

Head Parts: no XTR headset

Chain: CN-7701 9 speed Dura Ace chain
